Jess is the owner and founder of Ohio Valley Counseling, LLC.
She has spent the last several years specializing in trauma informed treatment including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Using an eclectic approach, she tends to utilize several types of counseling based on each client's individual needs. Jess has a passion for individuals from traumatic incidents and believes in a strong mind, body, spirit connection. She is licensed to provide services in Oh, Wv, and PA. In addition to overseeing the practice and working with clients, she offers several training topics including Managing Secondary Traumatic Stress, Living Your Self Care Plan, and Mental Health First Aid. Jess loves spending time with her family. She enjoys cooking and making any type of craft or art.
Paul received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from West Virginia University in 1988 and 1990, he has been working in the field of counseling for 35 years since then. He is licensed in West Virginia and has years of experience working with clients from children to adults, couples and families. He uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach as well as Structural Family Therapy, Mindfulness, Self Calming and Relaxation skills and specializes in dealing with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation and interpersonal relationship issues. Paul most recently was the Clinical Director at a boys group home in Wheeling WV and is excited to be taking on the Clinical Director and Therapist role with Ohio Valley Counseling. He is originally from Weirton and is happy to be working and moving back home. He enjoys the Mountaineers, spending time with his 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren along with making trips to Ohio’s Amish country with his wife.

Michelle received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2018. She enjoys working with people of all ages and has experience counseling clients who have suffered through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and ADHD. Michelle recognizes the dignity and uniqueness of each person and takes a collaborative and eclectic approach to help her clients meet their goals and improve their lives. As a Catholic Christian, Michelle understands the benefits of faith and spirituality in the healing process and is comfortable incorporating faith-based interventions for those looking for counseling from a Christian perspective. Michelle is independently licensed in the state of Ohio and in West Virginia. When she’s not in the office, Michelle enjoys hiking, kayaking, or doing basically any other outdoor activity.

Rachel (she/her) received her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Franciscan University in 2015; she is independently licensed in both Ohio and West Virginia and provides clinical supervision to several therapists within OHVC. Throughout her career, Rachel has enjoyed working with and getting to know folks from all different walks of life. While she primarily provides treatment to adults, Rachel occasionally extends treatment to older adolescents on a case-by-case basis. She has experience in diagnosing and treating depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, grief and more. Rachel believes one of her best skills is establishing a strong relationship with each client; this relationship sets a foundation of trust that allows clients to feel safe and understood, which is essential in therapy. You can expect an eclectic approach regarding your treatment, as therapy is not a one size fits all experience; this extends to viewing individuals from a holistic perspective—including physical, somatic, emotional, spiritual, and relational domains. Outside of therapy work, Rachel is most likely to be found binging podcasts or obnoxious reality TV, trying new foods and restaurants, or spending time with her friends, family, and 2 dogs.

Kristen obtained her Master's of Social Work with a graduate trauma certificate from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2023. Kristen enjoys working with all ages, and utilizes an eclectic approach drawing from CBT, DBT, and other modalities as appropriate. Her experience in community mental health and crisis stabilization informs her ability to respond to each client's unique situation. As a social worker, Kristen upholds the core values of service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. She is dependently licensed in the state of West Virginia and works under direct supervision.
When she's not in the office you can find her cooking, thrifting, finding new coffee shops to try, or watching Hallmark movies with her two cuddly cats.

Kimberly (Kim) Justice-Conley is a Behavioral and Mental Health Child Psychotherapist, bringing more than 18 years of experience in social work and clinical care, providing treatment services to children and adolescents in a variety of settings, including hospital outpatient treatment offices, home-based services, in-school support, and Level II and III residential group homes. Kimberly specializes in helping young people navigate challenges such as Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, other behavioral concerns and disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and several others. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating summa cum laude with a graduate concentration Certificate in Child and Family Welfare, and Kim holds dual licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) in West Virginia and a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in Ohio. Kimberly utilizes an eclectic range of approaches—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Humanistic/Client-Centered Therapy, Psychoeducation, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, and Attachment-Based Family Therapy— to ensure each client’s treatment is individualized and specific to the client’s treatment needs at that time. Outside of work, Kim has successfully climbed Mt. Whitney and Mt. St. Helen with her now husband, she enjoys spending time and trying new things with her son, singing and dancing, going on cruises to tropical beaches, watching true-crime documentaries, relaxing with her best friends, reading, and snuggling with her three pugs.

Jessica obtained her M.A in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Franciscan University in 2024. She specializes in working with clients of all age groups, with a particular focus on anxiety and depression. Jessica firmly believes in the potential for growth through therapy and encourages her clients to tap into their inner strength to make positive decisions that will lead them to their best selves. Her goal is to guide her clients towards a healthier, more self-aware, and balanced version of themselves with each session. Jessica primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients recognize and change negative thought patterns. She is licensed in Ohio, West Virginia and works under direct supervision. In her leisure time, she enjoys practicing jujitsu, hiking, and visiting Trader Joe's to purchase flowers

Janise Kaufman-Young is licensed in Ohio. She is an Ohio Valley native who continued her education at Jefferson Community College and obtained her Associate of Arts /Certificate in Early Childhood Development (1998). Janise furthered her education at Franciscan University of Steubenville, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2000) and a Master of Arts in Counseling (2005). After a sabbatical from the field and education, Janise received a Certificate in Contemporary Theory in Mental Health Services from Capella University (2023). She has also completed a Certificate in Play Therapy from Capella University (2024). She is working on her PhD in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior at Capella University. She specializes in working with children and families. She uses play, group, individual, and family sessions to assist clients with accomplishing their goals. She has a passion for educating professionals and faith-based organizations about mental health. Janise enjoys volunteering with local agencies to advocate and educate about mental health. She spends her leisure time with her husband, children, extended family, and friends.
